Flight Over Seabrook 2001 Cajun Charlie's Seafood Restaurant 202 Henning Drive, Sulphur, LA A deep adoration for the coastal wading birds, Bejat began her first pelican based on the dominate species of the area. Melding the species of similar genus, she captures the detail of every feather on the backdrop of the brown pelican on one side blending into the white pelican on the adjacent side. Pictured are the American bittern and least bittern, great blue heron and tricolored heron, yellow-crowned night heron and black-crowned night heron, and snowy egret and great egret. This Pelican received an enormous response and was displayed all over Seabrook at various locations, including Lakewood Batch Club's annual Wheels and Keels event, until finally roosting in Sulphur, LA. |
